Founded as a technology development company in 1989, the beginnings of what became AirDye Solutions were sponsored by CommTech International and SRI International. Our company’s research resulted in the issue of five patents for liquid toner technology.
In 2003 our company, then known as Colorep, Inc., shifted its focus to industrial printing applications and, shortly thereafter, filed four new patent applications; Hollow Dot, AirDye®, Composite Printing, and Time & Temperature, and completed the acquisition of BMT, leaders in new transfer process technologies.
By 2005 we advanced our textile technology and began commercializing product applications with the pilot production of modular carpet, apparel, and in-store display items. During this dynamic period, three trademarks were filed for AirDye®, ecobanner™, and No Rules Wash®.
In 2007 we began licensing AirDye technology to manufacturers and resellers in the hospitality and apparel industries. We also initiated a Life Cycle Assessment for AirDye technology. In latter 2007, we launched the ecobanner program with major retailers. At the end of the year the acquisition of Transprint USA was completed bringing us manufacturing, a global customer base, and a library of over 15,000 designs.
2008 and 2009 brought an expansion of product applications for AirDye in hospitality, healthcare, apparel and other industries. The AirDye product line also expanded to include AirDye Solids, AirDye Singles, AirDye Wovens, and AirDye Imprints.
In 2009, reflecting the growing awareness and acceptance of AirDye technology around the world, we changed our name from Colorep, Inc. to AirDye Solutions.
